Great Kolniaric War Scandal

Recently, on 21 September 2022, Sprinske and Alba Nuadh declared war on the Mafia Republic following a report from the Sprinske Intelligence Agency that they were planning to crash the Sprinske Delta via hyperinflation. The Mafia Republic did not know of the war until the next day, and immediately began talks with Emperor Aaron I. It was then discovered that the agent who told Emperor Aaron I about the plan was lying, he had a personal dislike of the Mafia Republic’s leader and wanted to cause some trouble in that country, and his idea was that starting a major war would be a good way to eradicate the country entirely. Both sides signed the Treaty of Meli to officially end the war, but the Mafia Republic said that they would only sign the treaty if the Sprinske Empire removed its military leader and appointed a new one. Emperor Aaron I agreed as the leader of the army had not been properly doing his job, and the war officially ended.

“What we have is an issue of national security within our own borders, not an issue on the international stage. We will conduct a full investigation alongside the Mafia Republic to find out more about the scandal that led to this war that neither side wants. In the immediate aftermath of this, our aim is to repair relations with the Mafia Republic, which has worked well so far. Appropriate action will be taken to insure that such a scandal cannot happen again. Thankfully, the war did not expand as large as it could have, as the BalCasMed Alliance ruled that it didn’t meet the terms of the Treaty of the Sea and therefore the nations did not join the war, so on the behalf of the entire nation, I would like to thank them for their wise decisions. The Union of the Northern Alliance also voted on the matter, and decided to assist us in the war, we also thank them for supporting us in our fight even thought they didn’t have to.”

Emperor Aaron I said on the matter. The scandal is currently being investigated by the Sprinske Empire and the Mafia Republic. The PDRS also confirmed that they would not join the war minutes before the treaty was signed.

In other news, the Sprinske Empire’s October 2022 General Election will go ahead as planned, the last election was cancelled due to the BDA’s power at that time, but the Prime Minister has confirmed that she will not run for re-election. The election will take place on 1 October 2022, and currently has two political parties: the United Social Democratic Valentia’s Party, a centrist party led by the President of ValeVRG, Jake. The other is the United People of Sprinske, led by King Niall I of Alba Nuadh and is a Social Conservative party.
